Impacted Teeth Are Best Removed by Professionals Like Us

Posted on 5/10/2019 by Alyssa O'Steen
Impacted Teeth Are Best Removed by Professionals Like UsIt is common for people to try to do things by themselves. Instead of hiring a professional painter for their home, they take it on themselves. If their car breaks down, they avoid a trip to the mechanic and work on it themselves. Sometimes they do as good a job as a professional and other times they do not and live with the results. A badly painted room will not cause major problems in life.

For the people who think they can treat an impacted tooth with home remedies, the mistakes they make could end up causing more problems than they can manage. That is why a dental professional like us is the best place to turn for impacted teeth.

What Are Impacted Teeth?

Impacted teeth are teeth that fail to emerge through the skin. It is possible to have fully impacted teeth or partially impacted teeth. Partially impacted teeth come through part of the skin, but not completely. Fully impacted teeth do not come through the skin at all, although they may reach the surface of the skin.

Symptoms of impacted teeth include pain, swelling, bleeding and infection. Because the problems and symptoms of an impacted tooth only get worse over time, it is important to seek treatment at the first signs. That will allow our dental professionals to determine the best course of treatment.

Why Have a Dental Professional Remove Them?

Removing impacted teeth is a surgical procedure. The procedure involves an incision to open up the area around the impacted tooth, so removal is possible, Stitches close the incision and the hole where the tooth was is allowed to heal.

There are many complications that can occur if the whole tooth is not removed. If there is an infection around the impacted tooth, that needs treatment. If the wound is not properly closed, infection can set in.An impacted tooth is not a pleasant experience, but with the right treatment from professionals like us can help resolve the problem and the symptoms that surround it.
